What personal information we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information presented in the comments form as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser user’s agent queue to detect spam.

An anonymous string (also called a hash) created from your email address can be submitted to Gravatar to see if you use it. The Gravatar Privacy Policy is available here: Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public with your comment.


If you upload images to a website, you should avoid sending images with an embedded location (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download and extract any location information from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our website, you can store your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your information again when you leave a new comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal information and will be rejected when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set several cookies to store your login information and screen selections. Signing in cookies takes two days, and displaying cookies takes a year. If you select “Remember me”, your login will remain for two weeks. If you sign out of your account, sign-in cookies will be deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an extra cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal information and only shows the postal code of the article you just edited. It expires in one day.

Who we share your information with

For order processing, we share the necessary information with a third party to receive the order. We do not share personal information other than for purposes necessary to provide customer service. Otherwise, the information will only be disclosed to a third party in accordance with the requirements of the law.

How long we keep your information

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata will be kept for now. This allows us to automatically identify and approve all follow-up comments instead of keeping them in the moderation queue. We retain customer information as required by law, ordering customer information we retain for at least the products warranty period.

For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Webmasters can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have with respect to your information

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of our personal information that we hold and any information you provide to us. You can also request that we remove all personal information we hold about you. This does not include information that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
